Jean-Sebastien Rioux - 99 Designs competition
The typeface I chose is Kelson Sans. They chose pantone 173 as their color.
Well received, but not the winner. 3 star rating.

KHS Transportation Solutions, Inc.
Below is the
story of a logo I designed for a transportation company based out of
North Carolina. They deal mainly with heavy hauling. Both, domestically
and globally.
I had initial concepts of using maybe an abstract outline/version of a rhino or bull as a the logo to evoke the concept of heavy hauling. After I submitted those concepts as well as a couple simple ones with just the 'KHS'....
...the customer wanted to use a globe and maybe some wheels together. The globe concept made perfect sense and was one of my original thoughts. Then, after submitting some globes with wheels and without wheels...
We decided that the globe without the wheels is the best fit for what he wants to show the global-ness of the business. We also added a little tagline below the globe and ended up with a nice finished product!

Then last but least was some yard signs...

A look into...
my design process for a current logo competition...
The brain storming..
Using mind mapping to create my ideas in order to figure out where I want this
logo concept to build from is crucial for myself as it is for most designers.
Then come the first sketches of the initial idea...The client originally thought of using "gears" for the "C's" company name Clearly Creative LLC. As well as playful, loud and complex. Although this isn't very complex the initial sketches are off to a good start in the playful side of things.

these were the logo ideas I came up with just from the mind mapping and the sketches created.

And Here is what I came up with...
Hope you enjoy - Joe
